You are wild and crazy and you know it.. You know how to have fun, but you may take it to extremes. You know what you are doing though, and are much in control of your own life. People don't al ways see things your way, but that doesn't mean that you should do away with your beliefs. Try to remember that your wild spirit can lead to hurting yourself and others.

(18-26 points) You are DORIS DAY:
You are fun, friendly, and popular! You are a real crowd pleaser. You have probably been out on the town your share of times, yet you come home with the values that your mother taught you. Marriage and children are very important to you, but only after you have fun. Don't let the people you please influence you to stray.

(27-34 points) You are DEBBIE REYNOLDS:
You are cute, and everyone loves you. You are a best friend that no one takes the chance of losing. You never hurt feelings and seldom have your own feelings hurt. Life is a breeze.. You are witty, and calm most of the time. Just keep clear of back stabbers, and you are worry-free.

(35-42 points) You are GRACE KELLY:
You are a lover. Romance, flowers, and wine are all you need to enjoy yourself. You are serious about all commitments and are a family person. You call your Mom every Sunday, and never forget a Birthday. Don't let your passion for romance get confused with the real thing.

(43-50 points) You are KATHERINE HEPBURN:
You are smart, a real thinker. Every situation is approached with a plan. You are very healthy in mind and body. You don't take crap fro m anyone. You have only a couple of individuals that you consider "real friends". You teach strong family values. Keep your feet planted in them, but don't overlook a bad situation when it does happen.

(51-60 points) You are ELIZABETH TAYLOR:
Everyone is in awe of you. You know what you want and how to get it. You have more friends than you know what to do with. Your word is your bond. Everyone knows when you say something it is money in the bank. You attract the opposite sex. Your intelligence overwhelms most. Your memory is the next thing to photographic. Everyone admires you because you are so considerate and lovable. You know how to enjoy life and treat people right.

I was Katherine Hepburn...who where you?

Old Treasures

Good Morning Ladies, Decided I wanted to share a little find I found this weekend at a local antique mall. On the right hand side bar I have a list of treasures that I am seeking. I love to have something to hunt for.

Anyway, for sometime I have been searching for a antique typewriter. Well I found one this weekend, that I just couldn't let get away. I got it for $35 dollars and it is in it's original case. Perfect. Most of them that I have been looking at were $100+. No thanks, can't afford to do that. Anyway, since I have wanted one for awhile, as I am planning to create a little vignette in my 'someday library or office'. to sit amongst all my old books. I have already purchased a antique fan from a yard sale last year. I am hoping to find a little antique telephone while I am out traipsing the country this year. So far I haven't seen anything that has really caught my eye, but looking for something kinda like this. Actually I would like to have something a little older than this particular model, but this would work.

Do you have any little vignettes that you are trying to achieve? Wanna share? I am always looking for ways to incorporate the old with the new. Something about that era is so appealing to me. I have really been gravitating to old housekeeping magazines and articles . I just love the look of them as well as the those old Homekeeping/Homemaking books and especially recipe books. Since I am avid cookbook collector.

Sometimes I get in antique stores and just get lost in another time and place. In the winter months Michael and I hit all the stores in our area, as we both have certain things that we are searching for. I will share more another things another day. But most of the time I spend in them are just like a mini vacation for me. I travel back in time. It's such a cheap form of entertainment, unless your me and usually buy something. Happy Searching!

Blessings!

Different Day, Same stuff

Since I hadn't posted since Saturday morning thought it best to do a little update. We did go out on Saturday to look for my wedding dress and I am happy to report I found one. Yeppers I did. I had done some searches prior to going out and found one that was exactly what I was looking for online so wrote down the design number and when I went to our local bridal salon, they actually carried the designer and had that dress. I was shocked. I tried it on and knew that it was the one. My girlfriend went with me and she told me is was the 'one' too. I did try on some others but they were a little much, too formal. If it had of been my first wedding that would have been one thing but with this being the second, I was going for a total different look. The first dress was simply gorgeous with a long train but it looked so youthful and not me at all. Anyhow, I decided on the dress(the one I saw on the internet) that I wanted and paid for it. Much to my surprise, it was marked down 1/2 price. Wow! I was thrilled. So not only did I get the dress I saw and wanted, the local salon had it and it was 1/2 off. Can't beat that.I have to go in for my fitting on March 13th. WooHoo! So now I have to look for shoes and something for my hair. Thinking about wearing my hair half up and half down. But we will see. I am thinking that a pretty comb or decorative hair pins might be the way to go. Although I would love a simple little tiara. As for shoes, I want some simple but classic and comfortable. Since the wedding is in April, I don't think I will do open toed unless I just find some that I love.

In saying all that about the shoes, I might have to wait for a bit before I actually get some due to the fact while I was at the salon I stumped my toe, I heard it pop, and it is every color of the rainbow. I am not sure if it is broken or fractured but either way it is painful and sore. So now I am running around with tennis shoes on and my toes taped together. Call me grace. :)

I am in the process of making tons of list for our upcoming trip to Houston and Kentucky. I have so much to accomplish in a few short days so don't want to forget anything. Upon getting back home, I will be getting Tori's dress and shoes. She has seen some that she likes so will go and check them out. Not sure exactly what I want though, so this gives me a little time to think about it.

Enough wedding talk for now, on to something else. My sister is going in this morning to have sinus surgery. My folks are going down to Nashville to be with her, it will be done outpatient but they want to be there none the less. My sister has always had problems breathing so they are going to be doing a new procedure to help her breathe better and improve her quality of life. They said if this procedure didn't work they were going to do something different. Please remember her in prayer for a speedy recovery.

Today the weather here is raining and the temps are only suppose to be around 40. I am eagerly awaiting spring. Seems lately I haven't been to motivated to do anything, and I am eager to get some things accomplished. If you could only see my garage, but the weather has been so cold, Michael can't get in there. For a while he worked in there with a heater on, but that doesn't seem to help when the temps are down in single digits or teens. So hoping next weekend will be a pretty weekend so maybe he can get some things done out there. I haven't had my car in the garage since last fall. ;(

Hope you all have a great Tuesday and blessed week.

Hug and God Bless!

Going Hunting!

Yep, you heard me right....not hunting for animals, but THAT dress. Michael and I are going to hit the shops today in search of my wedding dress. Who knows what I will come home with or if I will find anything at all. We took Tori and Derek out to dinner last night , Wesley was working, and we stopped and looked at some dresses for her. She found several she liked, but because of the flower situation....I need to wait on her dress. I will have a better idea of colors for her after our trip to Houston this next weekend we are leaving friday after work and flying to Houston and then to Nashville on Monday morning and heading back to Baltimore on Tuesday.

Michael and I are flying in on friday night the 29th to spend some time with his mother and see how she is feeling. (she had another chemo treatment this week) and if she thinks she will be able to make the trip to Kentucky for the wedding. To check out the flowers and pick up my ring and possibly look for dresses. It will be a busy and hectic trip. When we stop in Nashville (Russellville, my hometown) We will visit with the pastor, and the group of ladies that will be helping my mom set up the church. I will speak to the florist, the hair dresser, caterers and the county clerks office. (which reminds me I need to pull out my paperwork to take to them...ie birth certificate, divorce papers, etc...)

In a weeks time, I have gotten the cake it will be ivory color with fresh flowers , caterer, church and pastor, flowers are in the process, so I think the only major thing not taken care of is the pictures....and if he comes down to it, I will just get a good friend to take tons with her digital and we will go from there. I don't have time to sweat all the stuff. I said that is the only one thing left, but actually we got to get dresses, line up hair and nail appts, and tuxes, and airlines and hotel accomadations for out of town guest. So as you can see I still have lots to do. Granted everything has been contingent on this trip to Houston, but once we get back things will be in full swing. I have been working on list, and Michael and I have to sort everything out on them.

We still haven't decided what to do about a honeymoon, we would love to go to the tropics but that means getting our passports and making sure that we both can get adaquet time off from work. My work has pretty much okayed everything so that shouldn't be a problem...but not sure about his schedule. Are question is do we take it now, or later in the summer. Guess time will tell. So even though we have some things done, we still have tons more to do....looking forward to having this all behind me soon. In seven weeks I will be married. That is so hard to believe.

Now, on to something else....several things actually. I was off yesterday due to the weather so I did finally make a entry to my homemaking blog. You can check it out here. Of course, I have list of things to do on it, but at the moment that is going to have to take a back seat, but sometimes it is nice to delve into that and get away from all the wedding preparations.

I also got news yesterday that Don's (my ex) grandmother (my grandmother in alot of ways) was rushed to the hospital late friday night with clots in her legs behind her knee. She is having lots of trouble with circulation and the surgery seem to help.....although yesterday he was called again for them to tell him that she was going in for another surgery (eventually they decided not to do the surgery because they thought her circulation was getting better and she was just not strong enough for another surgery if they didn't need to do it) . Apparently the top part of her heart is beating at a different pace than the bottom part. Never heard of this before, but she is in major pain and in poor health. I would love to ask you all to please keep Rilda (Real-da) in your prayers as well as the family. I would greatly appreciate you lifting her up in prayer.
Also, please keep Michael and I in prayer as we continue on in our wedding plans. Pray that this wedding will come together and that it will be a union filled with God's love. I really want this marriage to be one that glorifys God. Thanks!

Well ladies, I need to scoot, got tons to do today. Until next time...

God Bless and big hugs!

Compeled to Share!

"All things are possible through Christ who strengthens me!"

Amen! Definitely with me this is the case. I have to have my coffee in order to do most anything these days. Today is a work day and because of the weather, I got the unexpected treat of being at home. So here I sit sipping my coffee and enjoying my morning, still in my jammies.

Seems like since Christmas my heart has been heavy with getting my priorities straight and working to maintain some balance in my life. I am on a quest this year to get my spiritual life as well as my home life in balance so that I can feel the constant peace and contentment that God gives so freely when we are in sync with him. God has bless me abundantly with a wonderful home, and it is high time that I take the pride in keeping it in a manner that is fitting for Him and his glory. Also, he has laid on my heart to be more hospitable to others. I love having friends in my home and making them feel special. Unfortunately over the last several years this has taken a back seat to other things, so trying to get back in the swing of that. It is a great opportunity to make special meals and share it over great conversation with friends. I know that is one of the talents that the Lord has bless me, and that is a giving nature. So what am I doing with it if I am not sharing it with others. So Michael and I are trying to incorporate this into our lives at this time. Last month we had friends over for just a simple meal, nothing elaborate but they were thrilled to be invited and continually thanked us for the hospitality.

Not sure about you, but my home is my haven. I love being here and making it inviting to my family and friends, but in saying that, I want it to be a place that shows that God lives here too. I want others to feel it when they are here. I want them to feel the spirit of God in my home. Hence I have been on a mission to get some Christian help from others. There are some awesome homemaking sites out in blogland if you are feeling compelled to have this in your life too. Check out some of the homemaking links to the left.

Have you looks at any of the e-books that are out there. I love e-books and have printed several this year. I have also joined several Christian homemaking groups to help me keep my focus. This has been helpful for me. Maybe you would want to check out some of them too? I would be glad to share some of the groups that I joined.

Check out Sheri's site for some wonderful Godly e-books.

Hands to Work and Hearts to God,
Cindy

Racing thoughts

Good Morning Ladies, just wanted to drop in here and do a little update, before I get to far along in my day. I am sitting here in a quiet house and the weather is simply gorgeous outside. The birds are singing and it is the first real tease of Spring. Oh was a wonderful gift it was this morning to be home and get to enjoy it. Today I am feeling on top of the world. Life is busy but oh so good. Praise God. He is so good to me.

As some of you know from reading my last post (reading Wedding Plans) the wheels are in motion. Michael and I have lots to do before the big day. I have been blessed with lots of friends back home and my mothers church that said they would do whatever needs to be done so that I don't have to worry about getting everything done long distance. What a true blessing this will be.

Michael and I are heading to Houston on the 29th of February for a couple of days and then on the way back we will stop in Russellville (fly into Nashville) to make some arrangements and speak with the florist, caterer, and pastor, as well as the cake decorator. So it will be busy why I am there. I will also take along a list of things for the women at the church that intend to help my mom. I never dreamed I could be this excited or happy again about a wedding, but God is putting everything in place. So I am simply trying to enjoy the journey. At this point because of work restrictions, we most likely will not do a honeymoon at this time, but later in the summer, we may try to take a cruise or vacation. This is fine with me because our main goal is to have this wedding before his mom can no longer travel. Bless her heart. Not only does she have our wedding to attend but two grandchildren that are graduating from college and she wants to attend thier graduations during this whole time frame. We feel that as long as she has things to look forward too, this may be the best medicine for her. She is a remarkable woman.

Today is going to be full of getting my house together and ready for a new full week of activity. I spent the morning cleaning my kitchen (again) and hitting all the hotspots in the family room. The house is picked up and cleaned and so I am going to work on a few of the things I had listed for my Household Managemet book. I am going to also download something that I found online yesterday. Which is going to be the site I am going to feature this week. (excert below taken from the site)

e-Sword is a fast and effective way to study the Bible. e-Sword is feature rich and user friendly with more capabilities than you would expect in a free software package. The fact that e-Sword is free is just one of the blessings and does not speak of the quality of the software. I make my living writing software and I believe I have put forth my best effort in this endeavor. The real work, however, was put in by the godly men and women who devoted countless years creating the texts that have been made available for our benefit.
In His service, Rick Meyers

So if you are interested in this download follow this link and find the download here.

Also one of thing I did accomplish this weekend was, I posted my cooking blog. It is no where near finished but you can find the link under personal sites in the left hand column. I hope you will drop by and leave me a little note.

K...ladies, as you can see, I got lots to do, so going to get at it. Thanks for all your well wishes. Hope you have a blessed day. Love you all.

Wedding plans

Hi Ladies, as you can see from the woman at the left she is relaxing in a nice hot bubble bath. Well that was me just a few minutes ago. This has been one busy week for me and hoping that this weekend will be one of productivity. I have lots I want to accomplish but not sure how far I will get. As Michael and I have lots on our plates at the moment.

First things first, I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines Day. Mine was very nice, albeit Michael and I didn't get to really spend alot of quality time together we did manage to grab some Chinese food before heading to Tori's cheer competition. He also surprised me with a beautiful carat diamond heart necklace. It is full of baguettes and single stones. It just shimmers and glitters know matter which was you look at it. I was shocked. It is the most beautiful heart necklace I have ever seen. He felt bad, because he wanted to get me my engagement ring (I have a ring he gave me when he proposed, but he said it wasn't my real engagement ring)...which we have been looking at for awhile, a marquise, but just before he got it, he was called by his mother and she asked him if I would like to have her diamond set. As you all know she has terminal cancer and she has started dispersing her things. Can you say honored? I was in total shock as it is a gorgeous ring. So my engagement ring will be a band of diamonds that have been taken out of various jewelry that Michael's dad has given her over the years and put into one ring, with a big stone in the middle. Can't really describe it, it is very different. But I am so honored that she wanted me to have it. So now Michael and I need to get wedding bands that will compliment this ring. Because of his mom's health we decided we needed to get this wedding in motion so that she will still be able to travel and be there. This is something that is so important to us.

As most of you know, we are getting married, and we were planning on a wedding possibly in late spring, early summer, but with his moms health, everything is getting pushed up. As it looks now, it will most likely April 12th. He and I are taking a trip to Texas and Kentucky in two weeks just to check out venues, but I have the church in my hometown on reserve and have a paster that will perform it. But as much as I would like to get married there, it will be alot of work to do it long distance. Therefore we want to check out some venues in Nashville that will basically do everything. We want something simple but yet elegant. We are starting to put all the details together, but one of my main concerns now, is finding the perfect dress. I want something simple, but elegant as well. Looking for ivory or champagne color. But it is so hard to find. So guess I need to start hitting the bridal shops. So that is what I know for now, and will keep you up to date as things happen. The next six or eight weeks are going to be busy busy.

This morning has been a busy one for me...I have already unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, put dishes away and wiped down the stove, also cleaned down all the kitchen counters and cleaned up the clutter on the ground floor and my bedroom. Laundry has been sorted and ready for washing. Michael went through all the hotspots on the tables of mounds of mail and trashed most of it. I also got the kitchen and family room floors sweeped and mopped. Now the rugs need to be vacuumed. So basically all the general cleaning has been done, and it now gives me time to work on some projects that I have listed that need to be done over the course of the next three days. Looking forward to this extra day off this weekend. I want to spend time with my blogs and new cooking blog this weekend, as well as more time with my Household Management Binder and Prayer Journal.

I am going to try to get around to visit with all my buddies this weekend too. Just haven't had much online computer time this week, so hope to make up for that this weekend.

Hope you all are having a great weekend.
God Bless!

I haven't forgotten

Well it has been awhile since I posted anything here, but wanted to assure you I haven't forgotten about this site. I have many things that I want to do, and they are rattling around in my head. I finally got some of it down on paper today, so will try to work on this site as well as create my new cooking/recipe site over this long three day weekend.

As of late, there just hasn't been enough hours in the day.

This site isn't going to be a site that I will not update daily, but will add to it pretty regularly.

Thanks for stopping by.

God Bless and Happy Homemaking!

Little bit of everything

Home is so much more than just a physical place- Thomas Kinkade

Hi Ladies, I have a few minutes here, so thought I would drop a little note. Hope this finds you all doing well. I am doing great, been busy with work and such, and the weather has been cold. The last two mornings I have came into work late because of the snow and ice. But I did make it here. This morning was a real chore getting my car cleaned off, but I managed, with Michael's help. What a sweetie.

Due to the weather last night, Tori's cheer competition for regionals was postponed...guess when they rescheduled it for. Tomorrow night...On Valentines night. Guess it isn't a big deal, cause I am not sure what was really going on, but had thought about ordering Chinese (Michael loves it) and put some candles out and sit and cuddle and watch a movie. We were going to be alone, as all the kids had plans already. Now we will be watching my little Valentine cheer her heart out. Oh well, I always enjoy watching her cheer, and if they place then they are on to State. She and her father are going to Kentucky in April for their cheer camp. She is so excited. She loves the Kentucky wildcat cheerleaders, they have won the title something like 16 out of 17 years. It should be a good time for her, as well as some bonding time with Dad because with that she has going on these days she doesn't have much time to spend with him.

With the upcoming three day weekend, I am hoping to get lots accomplished. You would not believe my list of things to do. I have a little project list for Michael of odd jobs that need to be done in the house, and I want to work on some more web projects. I have a list started that I keep adding to. Plan to get both the blogs updated, and then the cooking/recipe one started and up. I have been working on my Master Menu List and a Daily Schedule too for my HMB. Although I still need to complete the prayer journal. SO my weekend is going to be full.

Got a question....I have asked several friends if they have any idea how to protect our images on blogger, and we can figure out how for the sidebars, but not the center column. Any ideas?

I know this isn't pretty, because there is no graphics...but don't have any on this computer...soooooo maybe next time. Thanks to everyone that has commented on this blog and how much they like it. I have gotten some truly wonderful emails and I appreciate them all.

Please keep Michael's mom in prayer if you don't mind. We both do appreciate it more than you know, and we have informed her that I have my blogging buddies keeping her in prayer. She says "Thanks".

Hope to get around and visit with you soon.

God Bless!

Another Lazy day!

Do you remember these days? Your first crush at Valentines Day? Well it's that time to remember that special someone in your life again. I kinda feel like this little girl this week. With Michael being away for a few days last week, it gave me and always does a new perspective on our relationship and just how much he is a part of me. I missed him terribly. I am not sure what I am going to do yet for Valentines Day for him, especially with it falling during the middle of the week, but will try to do something special. I usually get my kids a small box of chocolates and a card. Nothing big. But I like to let them know that they are also my "little valentines" too and always will be. You got any special plans? Care to share?

I am feeling kinda out of sorts today....Can't really get myself going. I am sure it is partly because Aunt Flo came to visit and she always messes me up. Yesterday I couldn't get motivated and didn't get anything done I had planned, although I did get to Basket Bingo last night. Michael and I had planned on going with some friends so we kept that date, but I was dragging . It was at Tori's school to support one of their activities. Anyhow, I didn't play very well, got close a couple of times to winning, but didn't. Michael actually won a game but so did someone else so that had a play off and Michael got a consolation ticket. Which didn't get us anything. Oh well....but I had bought some raffle tickets when I went in, and look what I won. At the end of the night when they raffled off the baskets, I won this newspaper basket. I have wanted it for a long time, but never wanted to put out the money for it. So needless to say I was thrilled. It was filled with games. So I think I will keep the games and donate name to toys for tots at Christmas.

Well I had great intentions of working on my Homemaking site this weekend, but with the way that I am feeling I am not sure I will get to it. It is getting difficult to sit here for long periods of time. So depending on how I feel later, I might get to it and I might not. I am thinking about grabbing some meds and laying down to get the pressure off my back. Engross myself in some reading.

I realize this isn't much of a post, but I am hurting sitting here, so think I am just going to close...and just rest. All my thoughts are very cluttered at the moment so I know anything I write isn't going to make much sense.

Hope you all have a blessed Sunday!

It's almost bed time

and I have everything done for the night...not bad and it's 8:00 so might get lights out on time. Let me first thank you all for remembering Michael and his mom in your prayers. All I can say is Michael has felt it this visit with his mom. He said they have had an incredible visit and she is dealing with things in a very realistic manner. I haven't spoken to him today for more than 10 minutes, but I am sure I will talk to him tonight before I go to sleep. All that I have gotten so far, is that she had her first chemo treatment yesterday and whatever oral medication they are giving her she didn't get nauseated. She felt good when she got home....only tired. They apparently sat up and talked most of the night away. Michael was up at 3:30 yesterday morning,so he was running on very low energy by the time he hit the pillow. Anyhow, he didn't expect her to get up this morning, he expected her to sleep in and she ended up getting up and they had another good visit. So from what I gather, this has been a wonderful trip for him and his parents. Please remember him in prayer tomorrow (Friday) as he is flying back home. I can't tell you how truly happy I am that he got this time and it has gone well.

Last night I didn't do a whole lot, just mainly spent some time surfing the net and reading my new book. I started a new book called "The Bishops Daughter" by Wanda Brunstetter. It is really good. It is the last in a three series collection. I also took a leisurelly bath....Calgon, take me away. It was so relaxing, I just lounged with all the bubbles and my favorite soaps. Then climbed into my bed with sweet smell of "Sleep Pillow Mist" by Bath and Body Works. If you haven't tried it, you must. It is heavenly. Love it! Derek and Nikki gave me that in one of my Christmas packages. Definitely something that I hope they keep in their line.

Tori is in Driving class this week. It's a two week class that is required by the state of Maryland you have before you are allowed to get your license. It is from 6:30-9:30 M-F for two weeks. She has one more class tomorrow night. I had to run out last night after nine to get her and by the time I got home it was nearing 10:00. So needless to say I was worried about not getting enough sleep last night....but gratefully God answered my prayers, and when the alarm when off
this AM I bounced out of bed all bright eyed and bushied tail.....well that might be a little much but you get my drift. Anyhow, God truly blessed me today with my energy level. Thank you Jesus!

Today I added a new little feature to my blog...did you see it? I added the Amazon wish list. Mainly so when kids or Michael or Mom or anyone says what would you like to have...I can point them right there. One feature that it has that I really like, is you can hide if it has been bought for your birthday or valentines, mother's day, etc. Kinda kewl....that way it stays a surprise. This is one of my wish list. I have another one for my homemaking wants. A girl can never go wrong with books right? I just wish I had more time to read. At the moment, I probably have 10 that I want to get too. All in due time.

Well ladies, tomorrow is another day and I need to scoot, At the moment, I am at peace, my home is clean, my mind is cleaned out of the clutter, and my heart is full. Call me blessed.

God Bless!

P.S. Hope to make some updates to the HomeMaking Blog this weekend. Thanks to those that left me a little note or emailed me. :)

Creating a Prayer Journal

What am I going to blog about today? Prayer Journals.

I think I have decided that since you all know from reading some of my recent post that I have been spending alot of my time reading devotions and books on prayers plus commenting that I worked on a prayer journal over the weekend. Seems like I can't get enough information on praying. (This is something that I have been in prayer for, for a good while) I feel that God has laid this desire on my heart to learn how to create a better avenue of worship with him. Since I pray everyday, several times actually I want a way to track my prayer request and praises and answered prayers ,for a while many years ago I kept a prayer journal in a pretty journal book, and wrote each request that came my way, but after a while I became bored with it, because it didn't inspire me. Is that bad? Anyway, this time I want something that will inspire me to keep it up and use it daily.

So I went on a hunt for something, wasn't sure what until I found it. I found a site that had some wonderful help in getting started.

The top 5 Reasons to Start a Prayer Journal (http://www.squidoo.com/personalized-prayer-journal)

You Need One More Than You Know!

You'll Develop a More Intimate Relationship With God!

Have you ever written a love letter? It is something about putting your feelings down on paper that makes them more real to you. The same is true in your relationship with God. When you take time out to just sit down and focus on Him, the reality of who He is to you expands.Do this on a regular basis, and you will be amazed at how much deeper your connection to the Lord with run.

It Will Revolutionize Your Faith! When you are going through a trial, it is great to have the Word of God there by your side. You can meditate on the countless times God came through for His people. But, having your own book of answered prayers from the Lord can be even better. Your prayer journal can be a ready reminder of God's faithfulness to you when you need it most.

It Makes God's Word Real! Using a prayer journal is an excellent means of
Bible Study. When you journal on the things God reveals to you personally through studying His Word, the letters no longer just sit on the pages. It allows Him to reveal what they mean for you exactly where you are today.

You'll Be More Focused During Your Prayer Time! Have you ever been praying. Next thing you know, you're thinking about today's To Do List or something else totally off topic?Writing your prayers down keeps your brain focused where it needs to be - on spending time with your Heavenly Father.

You'll Create A Legacy of Faith! Over time, your prayer journal will develop into a beautiful love story between you and the Lord. It will hold all of the truths that He reveals to your heart throughout your journey with Him, and His great provision for your family through the years. A legacy of faith - Wouldn't that be something to pass on to future generations!

Short List of Supplies

  • A journal. An actual journal is not a requirement. You may like these free printable prayer journal pages. Or even a simple notebook will do.
  • Sticky Tabs. To separate the various sections of your Prayer Journal.
  • A Favorite Scripture. To refocus your mind on God each time you open your journal.
  • A List of Journal Categories for Your Table of Contents. You'll learn more about that next.
  • An Open Heart to Receive from God. Trust me - He'll show up!

Now For the Fun Part!

Designing A Prayer Journal Just for You

To create your prayer journal, start by taking an honest look at your own relationship with God. What do you need to make it flourish into all that God desires it to be? It may not necessarily be prayer.Do you need more of God's Word? A chance to get to know what He has already said so that you can believe the things He is saying to you today. Then design your journal with an expanded Bible study section. As a jumping off point, you may want to consider using free online Bible study courses and keeping a journal of what God reveals to your heart as you progress through them.Do you need more time alone just sitting in His presence? Then focus your attention on Revelations from God's heart and your own personal Love Letters to Him.Once you have figured out where your journal should focus, pick out a scripture that captures the essence of what your journal will be about. You can either type it up and tape it to the inside or outside of your cover, or write it at the top of the first page of your journal. Then, you will want to create your table of contents page. On your journal's first page (under your scripture if you put it here), list out the sections that you picked for your journal. Put them in the order that you decide the sections with actually go in.Use the sticky tabs to section off the journal into the appropriate number of sections. The size of the sections should vary. They should be a reflection on where you feel your journal should focus spiritually.Write the name of each section at the top of that section's first page. If you want, pick out a scripture related to each of your sections for inspiration whenever you write. Now You Have Your Very Own Personalized Prayer Journal!

If you are planning to create a prayer journal, I hope this article will help you. Check out some of the links that are offered through this article. The free christian journal pages are very nice. I know I will be printing some of them for mine. I also found a Online Bible Study Notebook. This is way KEWL. I wish I had of used this when I was deep in my bible studies over the years. What a wonderful way to keep track of your studies. It is definitely a favorite.

Ok, before I close, I have a prayer request. Could you still remember Michael's mom in your prayers. Michael is flying to Houston in the AM to spend with her and his father. Although this trip is quick and short, I pray that it will be quality time. His mother got her last test results on Monday and they have also found cancer on her lungs. She is going to start chemo tomorrow for the cancer on her lungs and liver, but they have told us they can't do anything for her pancreas. So if you could please remember her, we all would greatly appreciate you lifting her up to our Heavenly Father. Thank you!

Good Night and God Bless!

Updated Template

Good Morning Ladies, hope this finds you all having a blessed day. This morning has been quite relaxing for me thus far. I have spent oodles of time this morning, moving things around on my blogs, and getting my homemaking site in order. When I posted it yesterday I had a two column version and that isn't what I wanted so I got it changed to a three column verstion this morning. I like it much better. I got my help at this great site that I found this morning called, Tips for New Bloggers. The particular tutorial I used to convert a two colum to a three column was here. Now I will have to spend time populating the content for it. I have several things to still add but it will take me some time.

I also have been spending time this morning updating my HMB. What a chore that was, but I feel much better having it done. I worked on my prayer journal section. And removed my grocery/menu/recipe sections because I have added them into my recipe binder. Which I have also been working on this morning. This is huge undertaking because I have collected recipes and cookbooks for 20+ years. So it isn't anywhere near finished. My main goal was to get the prayer journal ready to go.

I'm hoping that this week I can implete some of things that I had hope to start the first of the year but seems like I couldn't get it all together. My brain has been racing with tons of projects that I needed/wanted to do to make my life run smoother. My goal is this will become a lifestyle that I can keep up with regardless of it I am working full-time or staying back at home. I love being at home and making my home a place that the family wants to be. Love going the extra mile for them. And seems like for the last several years, I play catch up. I think Michael is on board with all the changes so that helps.
I hope you will let me know that you stopped by and what you think of my new site. Also, let me know if there is anything in particular that you are looking for in the way of tips or whatever. I have a ton of links in my favorites on my computer, and now I will be trying to go through them and organize them here, and possible help someone in the process.
For now, I am going to take a rest, and depending on the rest of the day...I will try to get around for visits. Have a blessed day. Hugs!

Happy SONday!

This week he is heading to Houston on Wednesday to visit with his mom. We are expecting more test results tomorrow, but unless we hear something different than what we have, she only has about six months to live. It is so sad. He wants to go and spend some quality time with her while she still can enjoy the visit. I'm glad he is going, although he is only going to be there through Friday. He doesn't want to stay to long as she will not feel up to him being there that long. It will give his dad some support too. Please keep Betty Sue and Michael's family in your prayers. We can only hope for a miracle at this point.

Michael and I went out on a date last night. He came in the family room yesterday and ask me if I wanted to go on a date. I was like sure, where you want to go...he wanted to go grab dinner and go to the movies. So off we went. We saw "Juno". It was different, the language was rather bad but other than that, it had a good message. If you haven't seen it you can see the review here from the New York Times.
He also did my taxes yesterday. Yeah, glad that is done. I went ahead and filed online which is the way I normally do. The money is usually deposited into my account with 7-10 days. Not bad.
At the moment, he is over making me my favorite....he is making breakfast tacos. They are so yummy. Although I am allergic to eggs, he makes them with egg beaters and they seem to work for me. I always ask him to make extras so that I can have them throughout the week for snacks. I can tell you that my house some 'garlicy' at the moment, but I love it.
My Featured site this week is Christians United. They have some wonderful resources for you. Everything for family fun, to studing the bible, devotions, etc. The bible trivia quiz that I have added to my site( in the right hand column) is from there site. Take a look...maybe you will find something that you would like for your site, or to help you with your walk.
Well ladies, I need to scoot, want to make a small post at my other blog and then spend some time with Michael, not to mention grab a nap sometime this afternoon.
God Bless

Home Simple Home

Only have a minute, but wanted to let you know that I got a small glimpse of the my new Homemaking site up. Take a peek. I hope you will bookmark it and come back often. If you stop by leave me a note to let me know you were there.

God Bless

WELCOME and Time to get started!

To say that I am real happy with this layout is a understatement. I really wanted to have a three column blog so will have to work on that in time. Although I do like the look and feel of the colors of this one. But really wanted something that would reflect more of my home, but maybe in time this one will. For now this will work.

Most of the information you find here I just moved over from my "Life in the Details" blog, because I wanted a place to share more homemaking tips, information, and just my random thoughts about all aspects of the home life. I wanted to leave my other blog for more personal and day to day activities. It will take me a while to get this populated the way that I want but will continue to work on it as time allows.

I hope you will come back to visit me here. Sometimes it takes me time, with all the other "real" life things that I have going on but I will be back.

Hope to see you back here. Let me know you stopped by.

Blessings,

Cindy

Testing out Live Writer

Psalms 23

I'm back (my regular post is below)...I saw this adorable video and wanted to share it with you

Friday's Here and Saturday's Coming!

The weekend is finally here....woohoo! What a wild and busy week this has been. I am so glad that it is finally over. My plans for this weekend is get myself organized and get some of work done on my HSB and my other sites that I am working on. So hoping this is going to be a productive weekend. And I think this is going to be a good weekend for it too. Today was a gray gloomy day. Extremely overcast. The sun never came out. So my little bear with his umbrella and boots is so appropriate for today. Actually I got up this morning to slick roads and debated on trying to drive in myself....but I decided to give it a try and I made it. I was so proud of myself. I hate to drive on icy roads, but the salt trucks were out if full force. They ended up canceling school here today. It started sleeting last night about midnight and continued until about 6 or so this AM, then the rain set in. With the temps getting up to 40 today that help to melt the ice for the drive home. Thinking this weekend we are suppose to get more showers, but we are suppose to get up near 50.

This week I have spent alot of time rededicating myself to reading God's word which I have been doing since the first of the year. I am signed up through a website called Bible In a Year. It is a wonderful resource, they email me the readings and I can chose to read it online or using my bible. Alot of the time at work, I will read it online and then during the weekend, I will read my bible. I am loving it. I also have been reading a new book I purchased this past weekend called " A Woman's Call to Prayer" by Elizabeth George. It's a great book. I found a great devotional, "Making Prayer a Priority" if you have time swing by and read it. Actually there are some wonderful devotions at this site.

Do you see this laundry basket? Can you guess what I am going to be doing? Actaully Michael put my bed sheets in the laundry this morning, so I have to get upstairs and get them back on my bed....but I have several loads to do this weekend. I have been working on a weekly schedule for my chores. I have been breaking down each day of the week with daily chores to keep me better organized throughout my work week. At this point, when I work everyday and get home, I don't feel like doing much....but I think with a list of a few things to do daily, it will cut back on my Saturday chores. Although sometimes I really like to spend a Saturday doing some deep cleaning, which is what I want to do and then incorporate my new plan next week.

I also plan to do some work with my recipes. I have been working on a daily theme for my meals. Monday-chicken, Tuesday-leftovers, Wednesday-Ground Beef, Thursday-Chicken, Friday-go out or leftovers Saturday-try new recipe Sunday-Soup/sandwiches, pizza, etc....that is kinda the game plan for now...so want to get that organized so that I can start implementing that this next week too. I am going to do a major kitchen clean tomorrow, clean oven, clean out the fridge and wipe it down, etc...so that I can start on Monday with a clean slate.

This is just a few of the things that I want to work on this weekend...as well as work on some
of my new blog ideas for my other sites. I have a plan wrote out and outlined, but not sure if I will have time to get to it or not....if not, hoping that next week I can work some more on it in the evenings. I also think Michael is going to work on my taxes this weekend. Woohoo! Wondering how that tax rebate is going to effect me? What are you ladies going to do with your tax rebate? Anything fun? Actually at the moment, I plan to put mine in my savings account. I am trying to get my savings build up good before I start moving next year. I have a goal (amount) set that I would like to have to help off set the moving cost. My intention is to do whatever I can to make sure that we are financially secure, my hope is after I move, I will not have to work, but will be able to stay at home again. If I decide I want to do something part time then I will look into that...but I don't want to feel the need to have to work. I will be working hard to make it possible for us to live off one income. I really need to pray more about that.

Well I am going to go upstairs now and get my bed ready for a cozy nights sleep. Have you ever sprayed your fresh sheets with lavendar spray? I have a wonderful spray that I use on my sheets and it is heavenly. When I lay my head on my pillow, the light scent fills the nostrils and it is the BEST. Nothing better than taking a warm relaxing bath or shower and climbing between freshly washed sheets that smell terrific. Talk about great dreams.
My hope is to get back tomorrow to post my progress and also share more about the other books I got last weekend. Hi I'm Cindy and I'm a Book-a-holic.

Sweet Dreams and God Bless!
